An Authorized Representative is a legal requirement under some of the CE Marking Directives for a manufacturer or supplier based outside of the EU (European Union).

For most of the CE Marking Directives this does not apply so please contact us for advice about your type of product or equipment.

The Authorized Representative does not act as a sales agent or distributor.

We would be pleased to act as your Authorized Representative in the EU and here are the duties that we would carry out on your behalf:

1) Permit you to place our contact details on the Declaration of Conformity for your products as required by EU regulations.
2) Act as your primary contact point for all national Competent Authorities within the EU.
3) Maintain a current copy of your Technical File available for inspection by the European Competent Authorities. The Technical File is kept in complete confidentiality and would not be released to any third party unless they are a properly identifiable EU Competent Authority.
4) Give you authorization to place our name and address on your device labels, packaging and instructions for use. This is a legal requirement for the type of products where an Authorized Representative is required.
5) Always available to interact and arbitrate between you and the national Competent Authorities within the EU.
6) Represent you to the European Commission for consultation in case of withdrawal of one of your products by a Member State.
7) Maintain reports concerning the critical evaluation of all data collected during any evaluations for review by Competent Authorities.
8) Notify or be notified by, the Competent Authorities of serious product incidents.
9) As your Authorized Representative we have only your interests at heart. This may not always be so if a distributor is appointed as they naturally have their own agenda and may not always cooperate fully with competitors even from other EU countries.

Our fee for all of the above depends on the type of products involved and starts at only US$480.00 per year.
